Understanding Bare Roots, Jumpstarts, and Plugs

Bare Root

Dormant plants with exposed roots, sold without soil or pots. Best for large plantings and cost savings but must be planted quickly.
Jumpstart

A larger, ready-to-plant plug with a well-established root system. Comparable to a 2 or 3-gallon potted plant, these grow faster and establish quickly.
