Meet Your New Roommate: Dorm Room Houseplants is a relaxed, hands-on workshop made with college students in mind. Using the Canopy DIY Bar, you’ll choose a small dorm-friendly houseplant, pot it up, give it some personality, and learn the practical care tips that will actually help it survive dorm life.
No plant experience needed. This is part DIY activity, part plant-care crash course, and part excuse to get off campus and make something.

What we’ll talk about:
- Choosing the best spot for your plant in a dorm room
- How to tell when it actually needs water
- What low light, heat, and dry indoor air do to houseplants
- Common warning signs like yellowing, wilting, or browning leaves
- Easy ways to avoid common pests and problems
- How to keep your plant going through weekends away and school breaks
We’ll also be developing simple plant-care resources with the Canopy team so you leave with something useful to reference after the workshop.
Workshop Attendance Policy: This workshop requires a minimum number of participants. Canopy reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the event if minimum attendance is not met. Registered guests will be notified in advance and may choose a refund or transfer their registration to another workshop.
